Q: WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ROOM DARKENING AND BLACKOUT BLINDS?
A: The main difference between blackout and room darkening shades is the level of light blocking. Blackout shades are usually made using vinyl materials, blocking 100% of incoming light, while room darkening shades are designed to block most, but not all, of the light that comes into the room. If you require total darkness to sleep, we recommend adding a blackout roller shade in back of your alternating shade.

Q: DO ALTERNATING SHADES BLOCK LIGHT?
A: Alternating Shades are available in many light filtering and room darkening options. Fabric customization allows you to control how much light enters your room, from soft, translucent glows to dim out. However, since alternating shades are made with translucent fabrics, they will not enable complete light blockage.

Q: WILL ALTERNATING SHADES BLOCK MY VIEW?
Alternating Shades can be raised fully to allow an unobstructed view. You can customize your level of privacy and light control by tilting your shade to your desired height.
